Heritage Valley
Authentic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training about 35 minutes from Fillmore. Programs for adults, teens, and kids at Espiritu Jiu-Jitsu in Oxnard.
Fillmore → Oxnard
Fillmore is one of the last genuine small towns in Southern California — a place defined by the Fillmore & Western Railway, orange groves, and the kind of tight-knit community where people still know their neighbors. That same grit and groundedness is exactly what thrives on the mat. Students from Fillmore, Santa Paula, and Piru make the drive down CA-126 West specifically because there is no shortcut to good BJJ — and Espiritu Jiu-Jitsu is worth the trip.
For families in the Heritage Valley, BJJ offers something that fits the local values: discipline earned through repetition, respect built through hard training, and community forged on the mat. Our youth programs instill the same character-building qualities that Fillmore families already prize — hard work, humility, and showing up. Whether your child is just starting or you're an adult looking to train seriously for the first time, the drive from Fillmore brings you to a dedicated academy with lineage that matters.

Learn More →Why Espiritu
Espiritu Jiu-Jitsu isn't a franchise or a mixed martial arts gym. It's a focused Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy built on a direct lineage from Renzo Gracie through Shawn Williams to Professor Jeremy Espiritu. That lineage matters — it means structured curriculum, proven technique, and instructors who compete at the highest levels.
For Fillmore residents, the 35-minute drive down the 126 to the 101 becomes part of the routine. Students from the Heritage Valley come for the quality of instruction and stay for the community. Our evening schedule runs through 8:00 PM, with dedicated sparring sessions after the technique block — plenty of time to make the drive, train hard, and get home.
