Brazilian Jiu-JitsuOxnard, California
We teach Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu — a martial art built on leverage and technique, not size or strength. Programs for ages four through adult. No experience needed. Just discipline, respect, and the willingness to grow.
The Art
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was created by the Gracie family, who modified judo and traditional Japanese jiu-jitsu into a discipline built on leverage over strength. At Espiritu, we carry that lineage forward with focused instruction, a welcoming environment, and programs designed for every stage of life.

This establishment is extra special. The facility is clean and well maintained. The instructors are assertive and well trained. This is a no nonsense environment and great for students to learn and focus.
This is a great place to train! Whether you have just started your MMA journey or have been training for years, Professor Jeremy and the rest of the coaches make all feel welcomed. As a woman, I’ve never felt intimidated or out of place for being there. The coaches are encouraging and genuinely want you to learn and love the art of BJJ.
Espiritu Jiu-Jitsu is a welcoming spot for anyone who is looking to be more active. It’s not only good for the body but the mind. Professor Jeremy has built a safe place for people of all backgrounds — I would highly recommend this school!
Professor Jeremy and all of the coaches are super friendly. I was admittedly very nervous when I first started, but everyone here makes you feel incredibly welcome. The classes have a very good mix of technicality and self defense. The most striking thing to me is how Professor Jeremy ties in movements and how they may be used for self defense. Overall I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a structured workout or the self defense aspect!
